Mosio and OCLC are working together to offer a seamless integration of their virtual reference solutions, Text a Librarian + QuestionPoint, addressing the needs for libraries to communicate with on-the-go patrons.
The integration of Text a Librarian and QuestionPoint will start with libraries based in the United States.
Join us for a live demo to see how patrons text questions, how libraries are reaching more patrons with text message reference, and discover the advantages of Mosio's Text a Librarian. Sign up here.
Absolutely. By signing up today, you’ll get familiar with Text a Librarian features and can begin offering text message reference services to your patrons right away.
When the integration between the two services goes live, it will be seamless.
If your library subscribes to both Mosio’s Text a Librarian and OCLC’s QuestionPoint, you will be able to receive and respond to patron text messages inside the QuestionPoint interface.
Since Text a Librarian is a standalone service, you may also answer text message questions in the Text a Librarian interface as well.
Your administrator will set-up your library’s Text a Librarian account (auto-responders, SMS footer, etc). Your administrator will then enter your library’s QuestionPoint account details inside Text a Librarian, which will enable Text a Librarian to deliver text messages to your QP interface.
Step-by-step instructions will be provided to set-up the integration when it goes live.
Text a Librarian pricing can be found here. Current QuestionPoint customers will receive a 10-20% discount off the first year of Mosio's Text a Librarian service. Please contact us to discuss the applicable discount for your library or library system.
A discount off the first year of the QuestionPoint service will also be extended to current Text a Librarian customers. If your library is interested in subscribing to QuestionPoint, please visit QuestionPoint.org and contact them directly for more detailed information.
Great! As soon as the technical teams give the go ahead, you’ll be able to integrate the two services very easily. Once it goes live, we will provide detailed instructions on setting up the integration.
